When we sent in our joint tax returns on April 14, our accountant got a message from the IRS that we had already filed, which was not the case.
The thief must have had the $2400 relief money sent to another bank account, not ours, nor to our mailing address.
One would think that a tax return as complicated as ours would not be duplicated, so this was paid on a much simpler one I would guess. Someone had our Social Security numbers and birthdates and got our $2400. Hopefully, we will someday get reimbursed.
